Can you trust the river?
“From now on you will no longer be what you once were. Here is where most stumble and fall. There are so many reasons you can find for going no further, all of them would be valid in the world of form. This is why the mind gets so frightened for you, stepping out of its world into one with no bridges, no handholds. You will be stepping out into the unknown and in most cases the Unknowable. But here you are, facing this. Do not worry that you might be feeling trepidation, it is only the mind warning you that there is danger ahead, danger of change. For a while you have been in partnership with the mind to keep you on an even keel. Using the nautical reference and short parable, you have relied on the oars of your boat, keeping them in the water for guidance in the river’s current. Can you surrender the oars? Can you trust the river?”
