Too good to keep to yourself
Those of you who know me know that I have been on a rather deep dive the last few years into the world of horses, due mainly to ‘accidentally’ (or should we say providentially?) coming upon my first mare Luna a decade ago - at the time she was the obvious one in need of ‘saving.’ She was skin and bones, mostly abandoned, and tied up where there was nothing to eat.
But over the past decade of our life together the ‘saving’ has most definitely been a two way street.
And now? She is the mother of Deseo, the rambunctious and bold colt who has been the subject of so many of my recent posts.
Part of that journey that she invited me into was to take an online course two years ago from the lovely Tania Kindersley who is the author of the post in the photo. It was a course about horses, but really about life. It was about her journey, but also about our own journeys.
Tania says about her own mare, who she calls The Red Mare (you can follow her page of the same name):
“She opened my own heart, and she changed my life, and I wanted to give her gifts to others, because she is too good not to share. And that’s why I write down her stories, every day and every day, with gratitude and delight.”
I share all of this with you all because, at the end of the day, isn’t that what we are about - sharing our stories and the way our lives have been changed and knowing that it is too good to just keep to ourselves.
